SkaPunkMusicMan's Review
I got there right when i decline hit the stage. they did a pretty awesome show but, no one was really there yet and i for some reason was totally out of energy. i just didnt want to move i dont know why? but they took the place of the Fuck you up's i dont know for sure why they werent there but they werent, so i decline took there place. then allot of people started to come in. they didnt really move either everyone was just kinda tired or lazy. for the mob 40's at least. and i was expecting alot more from them. i have a few of there mp3's but they still were...i dont know not very...entergetic. they did a rancid cover which made me a little happy but still they were boring. then the strap ons came on and they rocked! they got the crowd going pretty good. there drummer got arrested a few days before while they were still on tour so they got the drummer from the casualties to play with them. i liked them but still i wasent very "hyped" then they said bullet train to moscow was playing next. so that was pretty cool because i have wanted to see them play for a while but i havent had the cash to see any local shows with this huge rush of great bands playing the same time. they did an awesome job but the drummer for the mob 40's was the only one really moshing. i think everyone was afriad of him. i wasnet i have been in pits with him he's not too violent but i still didnt have any energy. too my surprise there drummer wore an Aquabats shirt! that was nice to see because allot of "punk" bands nowadays dont like the aquabats or ska or anything that isnt "punk" (no there not close minded) they closed with the ttwisted sister cover "were not gunna take it" which always gets me hyped, although allot of bands do that cover nowadays. (backside, total chaos...etc) then it made my hyped for the casualties. they came out and opened with "riot, riot, riot" which REALLY got the crowd going and they played awesome tunes the whole hour they had. (no room for the youth, punx unite, who's in control?...etc) and they closed with the sham 69 cover of "if the kids arent united." OH YEAH! it was the funniest thing the casualties have a roadie thats like 16 maybe 17 years old and he just goes out into the crowd between bands and harrases them to buy stuff. hahahaha. he came to me and said "hey man oyu should buy a patch from us. seriosly man dirt cheap $1. you go to the store and buy a patch it's usually $3 man but not for us everything is dirt cheap $1. and you can get 2 pins for a buck to man come on! you buy a pin at the local store and it's gunna cost you like $1.50 but not here man 2 PINS FOR $1!" then i said "dude i dont have any money to spend on merchandise" so he said "well how bout cd's man? you go to the record store how much are cd's? like $16 man! but not here you can buy our cd's for $12 thats pretty cheap man! you cant beat that! come on!" i just laughed and before i could say anything he was gone in another persons face harrasing them to buy stuff. that was the funniest thing i have ever seen a band do. but over all it was a good night. even though i didnt have much energy. it was still a load of fun.
