SkaPunkMusicMan's Review!
Ok! this was I think one of the best Punk shows EVER!
I'll start you off with the trip to subway! Subway is a very good fast food place that oddly enough sells Submarine sandwiches. We got to the Nile about 5pm so we went to Subway to eat because we were at school all day with NO FOOD! anyways when we got there it was a bit strange to see that there were already people waiting for the show. just to be "First in line" after we ate at subway we walked over to the Nile theater and saw about 20 people already waiting for the show to start. (now that right there already shows that there were mega fans in the crowd.) when we saw that people were starting to form a line we got up and stood in it. at about 6:45pm they divided the lines in 2. Money and ticket. and since we all bought our tickets ahead of time we were like the first people in line now. as we were standing in line brooks and his crew came to us in line. we were like WO! since when do you like the dropkick Murphy's? (well we didn't ask that but I know that's what we were all thinking) then I saw Ivan walking in to the money only line and I Was like "HOLY CRAP! IVAN!" and I ran after him, his sis & her boyfriend and I was like "dude! I thought you were gunna be here at 6pm?" and he said "yeah I was planning on it but these to kids were 'busy'!" and then I went back into the ticket only line. and they started letting people in.
I was the first person at the stage! (woopie. yeah right.) so that's were I stayed for Reach the sky. then Lars Came on and I stayed up front for Dead American and I got to sing in the microphone! I was so hyped! I got to yell "I HERD A STORY ABOUT ANOTHER DEAD AMERICAN!" in my Lars voice. haha. then I went into the "mosh pits" but fell down like 3 times then I went and hung out with Ivan for the song "Anti-social" then for the rest of the show I was at the perfect spot. Close enough to see the band well, but yet still in the jumping moshing area but yet not being squished. it was Great! and the whole time Lars frederiksen and the bastards were playing it seemed like me and Lena were the only people that knew all the words.
Ok! the since I'm not into the $winging' Utter$ I went to the merchandise/Bar part of the Nile and hung out with my friends. We bought some water talked about our Little Story's that happened to us while Lars Frederiksen Was Playing. talked to Jaime about her hurt boob. I saw Brian the dude I met at Jimmy Eat world & Jaime's NEW Ex-boyfriend and I talked with him for a while. (I think he was stoned at the time, well that or drunk you never know at a dropkick Murphy's show) ok then we went as far as we could without being incredibly cramped and finished our waters.
then the lights dimmed and then everyone started chanting "LETS GO MURPHY'S LET'S GO!" and then we herd bagpipes playing and then they all ran out on stage and went into 3rd man in (I think) then they played basically there whole new album "sing loud, sing proud" and then they finally stopped and they said "there has been a slight change in players tonight it seems that ????? broke his arm a few days ago and is unable to play the guitar SO! tonight Lars Frederiksen is playing for him! THIS IS A ONCE IN A LIFE TIME EXPERIENCE!" and started playing again.
They said later in the show "so I herd that Snoop Doggy dogg played at the Nile? and I guess he brought some weed or something and they had a giant 'clambake' and that ruined it for you guys! because now! they have to search you. and that isn't cool! when we play a show we want everyone feeling as comfortable as possible and Snoop dogg Ruined it for you! MAN I HATE THAT GUY!" then this is were it gets really good they said "you know who else I hate! Limp Bizkit and that fred durst I hate his guts! he thinks he such a badass I wanna just beat the crap out of him!...ok so now were gunna do a chant it goes like this (Drums: dumb dumb dumbdumb dumb) F*CK LIMP BIZKIT!" hahahahahaha then they were like "and you know who else I hate! that Jonathan Davis guy from Korn Ya know? he thinks he can play the bagpipes but he can't play SH*T! ????? here (the bagpipe player) is gunna find him, shove his bagpipes up his @$$ and show him who's boss!"
then they said that they were going to play there last song! so they played "Skinhead On MBTA" and everyone Sang along! I mean EVERYONE! like everyone knew the words and if you didn't know the words you were still having a good time there was such a great feeling of Unity in the Nile at that time it was so great and they had everyone come up on stage and sing! finally they all left the stage and everyone started chanting again "LET'S GO MURPHY'S LETS GO!" and then they came back out and there like "ok we love you guys so much were gunna do 3 more!" the first one was "good Rats" and when they played it everyone put there arm around someone else and swayed back in forth and danced and singed and yelled and...AHHHHH!!!!! man so much unity it made me want to cry I was so happy! then they played "Boys On The Docks!" and like Skinhead On The MBTA! EVERYONE KNEW IT! and had a great time! then (this is the best part!) they had ????? the bagpipe player come out and play amazing grace! while the whole crowd sang and everyone on stage sang! (the normal version they have on the gangs all here they have guitar and drums and stuff but this time it was just the bagpipes)
by the time the show was over it was 11:45pm and I was supposed to call my mom at like 11pm and Jaime was supposed to be home by 11:30pm so we both got in trouble when we got home.
