SkaPunkMusicMan's Review
SAVE FERRIS - Scott, Telina, Jessica & I arrived at the Desert Sky Pavilion around 5:30pm exactly when Save Ferris Went On Stage! I was kind of disappointed in the set list they had because all the songs were from Modified, the only songs they played off of It Means Everything were come on Eileen, Under 21 and Spam (which are all good songs but I wish they would have played more songs from It Means Everything) Well while Monique was talking about the band she said "There is only one way to describe concerts in the year 1999 and that is 'SHOW US YOUR TITS!!' well since it is almost the year 2000 I think it's time for the guys to SHOW US YOUR TITS!" and all the guys took off there shirts and swung them around there head during Angry Situation and it was below 40degreese! I thought that was pretty cool that she did that because it's true at every show I've gone to (just about) the band has said "show us your tits" and that just ain't cool.
MOBY - before Moby came on I got some hot chocolate with Jessica and she bought some glow sticks. When Moby came on they turned off all the lights and the whole place was glowing with glow sticks red, green, blue, yellow, pink, purple every color! and when Moby played all the colors were spinning it looked so cool! I wish I was more into techno then like I am now because I would've appreciated it more if I was.
LIT - Lit did a pretty good show, I guess I don't know I never really got into lit enough to like em a whole lot, but during you make me complete everyone put there arms around each other and Swede side to side it was pretty cool.
BLINK 182 - Well Blink 182 was really good the first time I saw them; but this time they just were annoying and dumb they did the same stupid jokes and all the songs from Enema Of The State. It was boring really. The only thing they did that I liked was when all of the girls were screaming and Mark said "you guys are stupid" and the girls kept screaming and then he said "ahduhgrblatzkertsbluib" and the girls kept screaming and he said something like "the girls in AZ are pretty clueless", that's it.
MAMBO 69 GIRLS - Lou Bega's song Mambo #5 was really big around this time and the edge is one of those radio stations that makes fun of all the big trendy songs, so they came up with Mambo 69 anyway they had the male DJ's dress like chicks and dance and sing Mambo 69 while like grouping each other. Yeah it was pretty sick!
311 - OK 311 was basically the main reason I wanted to go to this show! In 1997/1998 I was OBSESSED! with 311 I owned all of there albums, I knew all the words to all there songs EVERYTHING but in early 1999 my mom made me sell all of my 311 CD's and tapes so I was pretty down about that. But 311 Did an AWESOME SHOW! They told the security guards to let the people stand in the isle and so everyone just Rushed up to the front and stood and jumped in the isle until the security stopped them. That was really cool. But once it got around to 11pm my brother said we had to leave so I didn't get to see all of 311 but I was still satisfied!
