SkaPunkMusicMan's Review

I went to Sarah's house around 4:30pm and Sarah, Lena & Megan gave me a Mohawk and spiked it. Lena also did something Really Cool With her hair the whole back of her head was in spikes it looked so awesome! we left right away because we were running kind of late. ANYWAYS!! we got to Club Rio and it looks like Caesars Palace I swear WAY TOO fancy for a punk show. We were looking around the outside for the entrance and we look over this little hill and we see a HUGE LINE of kids with Mohawk & spikes. When we get to the front gate and the security guards say to me "you can' wear that bracelet into the club, you could badly hurt someone, it is considered a weapon...BLAH BLAH BLAH!" so I said "so what am I supposed to do with it?" and the security said "Throw it in that pile of leaves you can look for it after the show" I really didn't want to, I knew it would get stolen or something but I did it anyway.

When we all got inside The Distillers plugged in and opened with Oh Serena! and everyone was trying to mosh but it was too Cramped. Then after like 3 or 4 songs they said "Come on Circle Pit! Come On Circle Pit!" and everyone was trying to from a circle pit but it just wasn't working so they did 2 more songs then left. I was pretty mad because I don't think they even played a full half hour and I didn't even break a sweat.

Then after a hour of waiting AFI came on and they rocked! I so wish I knew more of there songs, because I felt kind of left out. But man they were so Awesome! and they put on a show not just them standing and playing there instruments they had fog and glowing jack-o-lanterns and the lead singer jumped all over the place man IT WAS SO AWESOME! They made me a fan I got to get some of there cd's.

Well once AFI left everyone crowded up on the platform thing were it was really cramped; and when Rancid came on it was so loud I never herd so many people screaming at the same time. They opened with the Life Won't Wait Intro then went right into Don Giovanni/Disgruntled and out of no where there like 10 little like 4 to 6  people mosh pits it was so great! Lars Fredrickson Sang Leicester Square without the guitar or any instruments just Lars and the crowd singing Leicester Square, It was so cool. During the song Loki I fell down and I brought a bunch of people with me. Right in the middle of the whole crowd everyone was on the ground screaming "get this fat kid off me! and MY LEGS HURT! and SH*T!!!" then I left the crowd for a few songs and I drank some water but then they were playing Radio which is like one of my favorite songs so I ran into the crowd to be there while they played it. I spent the rest of the time in the HUGE circle pit and in this little 3 person mosh pit with a skin head and some chick that had liberty spikes. Overall they played allot of songs from Let's Go and there new Self Titled album with a pretty good mix of old Self Titled, Life Won't Wait, and ...And out come the Wolves. MAN IT WAS AWESOME! you should never miss a chance to see Rancid and you should always buy your Rancid tickets in advance because I was supposed to meet 5 people there but none of them bought tickets and the show was sold out so they didn't go. I'm sorry Ely, Ivan, Adrienne, Brittany & Jaime; I'm sorry that you couldn't go.
